Welcome Message from the President of the Genetics Society of Thailand

It is my great honor to welcome you to the 24th International Conference of the Genetics Society of Thailand (iGST2026) and the 3rd Asian Genetics Consortium Conference 2026 (AGCC 2026). Under the theme of "Genomics for World Biodiversity and Sustainability," we are pleased to host you here in Bangkok, Thailand. The conference is hosted by The Genetics Society of Thailand (GST) and The Department of Pathology, Faculty of Medicine Ramathibodi Hospital, Mahidol University, and co-hosted by The Royal College of Pathologists of Thailand and The College of Pharmacogenomics and Precision Pharmacy (CPPGx), The Royal College of Pharmacy, Mahidol University.

On this auspicious occasion, we would like to pay tribute to Her Majesty Queen Sirikit, the Queen Mother of Thailand, who is revered as the "Mother of Thai Biodiversity" for her lifelong dedication to environmental conservation, watershed restoration, and the protection of endangered species. Key aspects of her legacy include pioneering initiatives in wildlife sanctuaries, mangrove protection, and marine turtle conservation, as well as the "Small House in the Big Forest" project. Her Majesty's efforts in balancing conservation with the well-being of the Thai people have left a long-lasting impact on the nation.

The conference, therefore, will cover critical topics including genomics for sustainable agriculture (animal, plant, and environmental genomics), genomics for health and life sciences (genomic medicine, precision medicine, microbial genetics), and population genetics/genomics for conservation and biodiversity.

I would like to thank all the speakers, participants, the organizing committee, and staff for making this conference possible. I am confident that the conference will be valuable, engaging, fruitful, and a great success.

Welcome Message from the Head of the Department of Pathology, Faculty of Medicine Ramathibodi Hospital, Mahidol University

On behalf of the Department of Pathology, Faculty of Medicine-Ramathibodi Hospital, Mahidol University, it is my great honor and pleasure to welcome you all to the 24th International Conference of the Genetics Society of Thailand (iGST2026) and the 3rd Asian Genetics Consortium Conference (AGCC 2026).

This year, we gather under the timely and vital theme, "Genomics for World Biodiversity and Sustainability." As we navigate an era of rapid environmental and technological change, the role of genomics has never been more critical—not only in advancing human health but also in preserving the delicate balance of our planet’s biodiversity.

The Department of Pathology of Faculty of Medicine-Ramathibodi Hospital is proud to serve as a co-host for this prestigious event. Our department stands at the forefront of medical laboratory services in Thailand, providing comprehensive genetic testing across hereditary conditions, infectious diseases, oncology, and the evolving field of pharmacogenomics. Beyond our clinical service, we are deeply committed to nurturing the next generation of specialists through our graduate and postgraduate programs, ensuring that our research translates directly into improved patient care and sustainable health solutions.

We are also privileged to collaborate with the Genetics Society of Thailand and our esteemed co-hosts: the Royal College of Pathologists of Thailand and the College of Pharmacogenomics and Precision Pharmacy (CPPGx). This partnership underscores the multidisciplinary approach required to harness the full potential of genomic science.

I hope this conference serves as a dynamic platform for exchanging ideas, sparking innovation, and strengthening professional bonds. May the insights gained here contribute to a more sustainable world and a healthier future for all.

Once again, welcome to Bangkok. I wish you a productive and inspiring conference.
