Dear Friends and Colleagues,

On behalf of the organizing committee, it is my great pleasure to invite you to attend the THAI-NEMS & AOMC 2027: The joint congress between the 15th Scientific Annual Meeting of the Thai Neuromuscular and Electrodiagnostic Medicine Society & the 25th Asian and Oceanian Myology Center (AOMC) 2027 Joint Congress, supported by the World Muscle Society (WMS), during the 10th – 12th of November 2027 in Bangkok, Thailand.

The Asian and Oceanian Myology Center (AOMC) was inaugurated in Tokyo in January 2001. The main goals of the AOMC are to promote basic and advanced clinical research with an ultimate aim to achieve excellent standards in clinical practice in the neuromuscular field, to provide educational opportunities for young investigators and clinicians, and to encourage new and strengthen existing multidisciplinary collaborations. By partnering with the Thai Neuromuscular and Electrodiagnostic Medicine Society (THAI-NEMS) for this joint congress, and with the valued support of the World Muscle Society (WMS), we are proud to continue our tradition of hosting highly successful meetings and expanding our global network of collaboration.

We have the honor of hosting this prestigious joint congress in Thailand in 2027. The meeting aims to fulfill the shared goals of both the AOMC and THAI-NEMS. Themes of the scientific program have been selected to include treatable but possibly problematic diseases often encountered in clinical practice, rare yet-to-be-identified genetic diseases, emerging and exciting relatively new diseases, and updated treatments in neuromuscular disorders, together with sessions on diagnostic approaches—including electrodiagnostic medicine and neuromuscular ultrasound. One of the highlights of this meeting is the clinicopathological conference (CPC), where clinical features and muscle biopsy findings of patients with muscle diseases will be presented and discussed. Participants are encouraged to submit abstracts of their clinical or research work for poster presentation and case histories to present in the CPC. Some of the abstracts may also be selected for oral presentation.

A number of world-renowned and regional expert clinicians and researchers in the field of neuromuscular disorders will participate in this meeting to share their knowledge and experience. We are especially pleased that several world-renowned experts in the field will be joining this meeting. One of the benefits of attending this congress, apart from obtaining new knowledge, is the opportunity to meet many experts and specialists with whom you can exchange information, which may lead to future collaborative research.

We are certain that by attending this meeting, you will benefit from the scientific program, reconnect with friends and colleagues, and enjoy your stay in our wonderful river environment. We look forward to your participation and to welcoming you in November 2027.

Welcome to THAI-NEMS & AOMC 2027

On behalf of the Asian Oceanian Myology Center (AOMC), it is my great pleasure to welcome you to THAI-NEMS & AOMC 2027, which will be held in Thailand from 10–12 November 2027.

I would like to express my sincere appreciation to the Thai Neuromuscular and Electrodiagnostic Medicine Society (THAI-NEMS) and the Local Organizing Committee for their dedication and efforts in organizing this important meeting.

The Asian-Oceanian region is remarkably diverse in terms of culture, healthcare systems, and medical resources. At the same time, we share a common goal: to advance the understanding, diagnosis, and treatment of neuromuscular diseases, while strengthening collaboration and education across the region. Meetings such as THAI-NEMS & AOMC provide an invaluable opportunity to exchange scientific knowledge, discuss challenging clinical cases, foster friendships, and promote future collaborations among clinicians, researchers, and allied healthcare professionals.

I am confident that the scientific program and the interactions throughout the meeting will inspire fruitful discussions and contribute to further development of neuromuscular medicine in our region and beyond.

I look forward to welcoming all participants to Thailand and sincerely hope that you will enjoy both the scientific program and the warm hospitality of the host country.
Ichizo Nishino, MD, PhD
President, Asian Oceanian Myology Center (AOMC)
